Ten nights of live music kick off later with the Summer Sessions taking place in Southampton's Guildhall Square.

Scottish singer Amy Macdonald headlines on Friday with the following concerts offering something for music lovers across a wide range of genres - from vintage surf rock to Ibiza anthems.

Billy Ocean and Deacon Blue are also among the artists set to perform.

Now in its third edition, the event attracted more than 26,000 fans in the city in 2024 and hosted performances from musicians such as Craig David and Rag'n'Bone Man in 2025.

Billy Ocean promises a set full of hits on 21 June

Promoter Mark Harrison said the team was "so proud" of the line-up, which is "packed with huge stars and moments fans will never forget".

"It's our most exciting programme yet," he said.

"Since we launched the concert series in 2024, our aim has always been to bring world-class artists and unforgettable experiences to this amazing city."

The concerts are being held at Guildhall Square in the centre of the city. The post code is SO14 7DU.

There is no car parking on site but information about council on-street parking and car parks can be found here.

Southampton train station is about a seven-minute taxi drive or an 11-minute walk from the venue. Southampton Coach Station is about an 8-minute walk from the venue on Western Esplanade.

When do gates open and what can I bring?

Organisers say that gates open at 18:00 BST with the shows ending by 22:30.

Food or drink is not allowed to be brought into the venue but one sealed water bottle (maximum 500 ml), and one empty reusable water bottle, is allowed per person.

There are free water refill stations available and a variety of food and drink stalls.

Cash is not accepted on site, so bring other means to pay such as cards or phone.

Chairs, umbrellas and selfie sticks are among the items that are not permitted.
