Police are looking to find a man seen running away after a fire in a flat in Derby.

Firefighters were called to reports of the fire on Osmaston Road, Normanton, at around 13:40 BST on Thursday.

An investigation concluded the most likely cause was "accidental" and linked to the "inappropriate use of electrics in the roof space", but Derbyshire Police said officers are trying to identify an injured man seen running across the road "with burns to his face."

The man is described as wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts and flip flops, and is believed to be in his late 30s to early 40s.

Police said: "Officers are keen to speak to him to make sure he is safe and well, and to ensure he has received medical treatment."

Anyone with further information is urged to contact Derbyshire Police.
