An investigation is under way after a man died in a crash in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police was called to Chester Road, in the Erdington area of the city, at about 21:20 BST on Sunday.

The 33-year-old driver of a Kia Sportage was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the same car, also in his 30s, was taken to hospital as a precaution and a man in his 50s, who was driving a Honda Jazz, was treated for injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

The street close to Chester Road train station was closed as a precaution, but has since reopened.

The force said it wanted to hear from anyone who had CCTV or dashcam footage from around the area.
