Plans for a replacement building have been submitted

An office building that was badly damaged in Storm Ciarán could be replaced if plans are approved.

The building on Rue des Pres, St Saviour, Jersey, previously housed Pentagon Wholesale and had to be knocked down after the storm in 2023.

The plans ask for permission to demolish the building and replace it with a new two-storey block.

The proposal says the building will provide a "modern and practical commercial facility whilst respecting the character of the surrounding industrial environment".

Jersey was badly affected by Storm Ciarán in November 2023, which downed trees and damaged various properties.

The plans say it will be a "modern, energy-efficient and fully accessible replacement building".

The design aims to have a "contemporary industrial appearance" with dark-coloured cladding panels on the first floor and a flat roof.

If given the green light, the ground floor will contain office accommodation, a meeting room, locker room and welfare facilities.

The first floor will provide extra office accommodation, a plant room and data room.
