Police have appealed for information after a man indecently exposed himself to two girls in a town in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Police said the indecent exposure took place in a jitty between Quenby Lane and Clumber Close in Ripley at about 15:20 BST on Wednesday.

Officers said the man was wearing a blue or black jacket, grey or black joggers, a hooded top and a face covering.

The force said it understood incidents of this nature would cause concern within the community, and added that patrols in the area have been stepped up.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We have been making extensive inquiries as part of our investigation, which has included door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV.

"Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have information about what happened to please contact us.

"Of particular interest is anyone in the area who has CCTV, Ring doorbell or dashcam footage and has not already spoken to officers."
