The blaze in Grantham began before dawn

A man has been arrested after a "serious" fire broke out in a property above a takeaway shop in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

Emergency services, including fire crews from both Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, were called to the Market Place just after 05:30 BST.

It was closed during the blaze but has since reopened.

The 38-year-old was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to danger life.
