Arson arrest as kittens saved in town centre blaze
BBCA man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a large fire at a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent from which four kittens were rescued.
Fire crews were called to High Street in Tunstall at 05:25 BST on Friday. No injuries were reported.
The suspect, aged 33 and from Stoke-on-Trent, has been released on conditional bail while an investigation continues, Staffordshire Police said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the force.
High Street and Roundwell Street were closed during the blaze and crews remained at the scene on Saturday morning to inspect the site.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council said its experts had assessed the damage to the building, confirming parts of it needed to be demolished.
