Investigation under way into disused building fire

A joint investigation is under way into a blaze at a disused building in Ilkeston.

Crews from Ilkeston, Ascot Drive and Long Eaton, as well as Eastwood, Stockhill and Stapleford in Nottinghamshire, were sent to Heanor Road at 04:46 BST on Wednesday.

Heanor Road was closed from Grey Meadow Road to the roundabout at Rutland Street, until fire crews left the scene shortly after 15:00 BST.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said, in an updated statement, a joint investigation was ongoing with police.
