Man arrested after woman found dead in caravan
BBCA man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman.
Northamptonshire Police was called to a caravan park on Ecton Lane, Sywell, at about 06:20 BST following reports of an assault.
When officers arrived they found the body of a woman inside a caravan.
A 72-year-old man has been arrested and taken into police custody.
Det Ch Insp Ryan Catling said: "This is an extremely tragic incident in which a woman has sadly lost her life, and our thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones at what will be an incredibly difficult and distressing time.
"Specialist officers are supporting her next-of-kin, and we ask that their privacy is respected while they come to terms with this terrible loss.
"Our investigation is moving at pace, and we are committed to securing all available evidence and doing everything we can to get justice."
He added that there would be an increased police presence in the village, near Northampton, while officers continued to make inquiries.
