Airport site's £2.5bn redevelopment approved
Warwick District CouncilPlanning permission has been granted for the £2.5bn redevelopment of Coventry Airport.
Detailed planning permission for the GreenPower Park site was approved by Warwick District Council on Wednesday.
The planned development includes seven manufacturing facilities, ranging in size from 69,000 sq ft to 1.5 million sq ft, and totalling 4.8 million sq ft.
A spokesperson said the site would create "a centre of excellence for battery technology, advanced manufacturing and clean energy", with the potential to create 6,000 new jobs.
GreenPower Park is a public-private partnership between Coventry City Council and Rigby Group.
The latest planning approval augments the existing outline permission for a large battery manufacturing facility, granted in 2022, providing full detail for buildings, plot layouts and landscaping.
