A slip road on the M5 has reopened after an overturned lorry forced its closure, leading to long delays.

National Highways said the southbound junction 21 slip road near Weston-super-Mare had been closed to allow for the scene to be cleared.

Delays of well over an hour and six miles of congestion were reported at the height of the incident, with traffic cleared later in the evening.

Footage posted on social media appeared to show emergency service vehicles at the scene of the incident.
