The MPTS said Wolverson had "disengaged entirely" with its regulatory process

A GP who worked while he was suspended for misconduct has been struck off from practising again after he made no contact with his regulator.

Keith Wolverson was suspended for 12 months in 2024 for working while a separate nine-month suspension for criticising patients' English skills and asking a woman to remove her veil was active in late 2022.

He worked for Reading-based Practice Plus Group while suspended 17 times, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) found in 2024.

Wolverson, who also worked at Royal Stoke University Hospital and Derby Urgent Treatment Centre, had "disengaged entirely" with the MPTS's regulatory process, it said.

A panel found "formulating workable conditions" for him to return to practising as a doctor "would be neither practical nor effective."

It said, given he has not practised for more than three years and had "not demonstrated sufficient insight", it "could not identify any conditions that would adequately address the concerns or ensure public protection".

Wolverson will be told of his removal from the MPTS's register by letter, which will inform him of his right to appeal and when the new order will come into effect.
