A man has been taken to hospital after he was rescued from a lake in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to Balderton Lake, off Heron Way in New Balderton, at 14:35 BST on Thursday.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said one man got out of the water and crews rescued another man.

The service said the extent of the man's injuries were not known.

A spokesperson for Balderton Parish Council said the lake had been closed, adding: "For everyone's safety, please stay away from the area until further notice."

The parish council also confirmed an air ambulance was in attendance.
