Glasgow Subway reopens after rush hour closure due to technical issue
BBCGlasgow's Subway service has reopened after being completely suspended for more than two hours due to a technical issue.
Services on both the Inner and Outer lines were halted at about 08:30, with passengers told to leave stations and find alternative transport.
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) had earler stated on social media: "Both Inner and Outer Circles are currently suspended due to a technical issue in the control room. "We are working to resolve the issue and will update when services resume."
Services restarted on both lines at about 11:00.
The transport body apologised for any inconvenience to passengers caused by the closure.
SPT recently transferred the operations of its signalling and comms system to a new control room, described by the transport operator as state of the art.
The new system has brought in fully-automated passenger announcements and extra information available on passenger screens on the trains.
On Wednesday, a train fault forced the Outer Circle to close for a spell.
