Special powers to be used ahead of derby match

Thames Valley Police (TVP) said its operation will be "highly visible and comprehensive" before and after the League One match at the Kassam Stadium from 19:45 GMT.
It said officers will be given special powers to tell people to leave areas in Oxford city centre, Blackbird Leys and near Didcot Parkway and Reading rail stations.
They will be in force from 11:00 on Wednesday until 01:00 on Thursday and TVP said it has worked closely with the two clubs and British Transport Police on the plans.
TVP's Supt Jennifer Hogben said the match, the first time the two clubs have faced each other since February 2024, is "expected to attract significant interest".
"We will not tolerate violence, disorder, antisocial behaviour or criminality of any kind. Anyone intent on causing disruption can expect a swift response from officers," she said.
"We would strongly urge parents and guardians to know where their children are and what they are doing on the evening of the match.
"The vast majority of people attending this fixture will be there to enjoy the football and our officers will be on hand throughout the day to provide reassurance, answer questions and deal swiftly with any issues that arise."
