Section of major route to close for repair works
GoogleA section of Welford Road will be closed from next week to allow for sewer repairs.
Severn Trent said 24-hour closures would impact the outbound carriageway at Greenhill Road from Monday, October 19, with work expected to last five days.
The closure for lorries will be from Victoria Park Road as there will be "insufficient turning space beyond this point", a spokesperson said.
Road closures will be in place throughout to keep workers and members of the public safe.
"We know this is a busy route, so want to give people advance notice to plan their journeys," the spokesperson said.
"We'd like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience and understanding as we look to complete these works and get everything back to normal as quickly as possible."
Drivers will be diverted at Victoria Park Road on to Queens Road, Knighton Road and Chapel Lane, to Welford Road beyond the closure.
