Arrests after drugs farm discovered above bar

A "sophisticated" cannabis farm, containing more than 300 mature plants, has been discovered above a bar in Sheffield.

Officers broke through the barricaded door of the commercial property on Attercliffe Road and found the drugs "all ready to be cropped and funnelled onto the streets of South Yorkshire".

Police said two men were arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and immigration offences after the discovery earlier this month. Both were bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers said signs of a cannabis grow could include a strong smell of the drug, blacked-out windows or excessive condensation, a blocked letterbox and visitors at unusual hours who stayed for a short period of time.
