Appeal made over decades-long unsolved murder
SuppliedThe family of a woman murdered 26 years ago have renewed their appeal to the public to help identify the culprit.
Vicky Glass was last seen being dropped off by a taxi driver in Middlesbrough at about 04:00 BST on 24 September 2000, three days after her 21st birthday.
Her body was found six weeks later in a stream in Danby, North Yorkshire. Four arrests have been in the time since - the most recent in June - but no charges have been made.
Her family said their lives were "plagued" by her death. "We implore anyone with any information, big or small, to please come forward," they said.
The latest arrest was of a 65-year-old man who remains on police bail, Cleveland Police confirmed.
In a statement shared through the force, the Glass family said the pain of Vicky's death was growing worse each year.
"It is vicious and brutal," they said.
"We grieve for our family, for who we could have been, a family with Vicky with us.
"We mourn every single day, not being able to talk to her, go shopping with her, sitting around a table with her having a family meal, laughing with her, making memories with her, all the small things that are taken for granted we do not have."
They also said they would never stop fighting in their quest for justice.
Detective Chief Constable Steve Chatterton appealed for anyone with information to come forward and help end "this nightmare" for the Glass family.
