Cannabis 'gardeners' jailed over grow worth £3m
West Yorkshire PoliceThree men have been jailed after they were caught working as "gardeners" at a multimillion-pound cannabis farm in Bradford.
More than 20 so-called "growing rooms" and 3,000 cannabis plants were found when police raided a warehouse unit at Station Mills on Station Road in Wyke in July 2025.
The plants could have produced cannabis worth up to £3.7m, Bradford Crown Court heard.
Hoang Anh Vo, 41, and Pham Van Houng, 36, were each jailed for three years at the same court on Monday after being found guilty of producing cannabis, while their accomplice, 29-year-old Anh Tran, was sentenced to 31 months in prison after pleading guilty to the same offence.
Prosecutor Gabrielle Coates said officers found Anh Vo hiding in a cupboard during the raid.
Van Houng and Tran were discovered under a pile of rubbish.
Coates said the premises had living quarters, communal areas, beds and a cooking station with fridges and freezers.
"Within the basement there were 23 rooms, all used for the production of cannabis," said Coates.
"Each room had cannabis plants in varying stages of growth from seedlings to mature flowering plants. In total, there were 3,068 plants."
Tran pleaded guilty to producing cannabis at a hearing in January, while Anh Vo and Van Houng were found guilty at trial in August.
Judge Sophie McKone said all three men played a "very important" role in the production of a dangerous drug.
"Without gardeners the cannabis plants would not thrive - and thrive they did," she said.
"The courts see on a regular basis the effects that cannabis has on those who take it and you were helping to peddle that dangerous drug here in Bradford."
The judge accepted that the trio had played a lesser role in the overall operation and that the men had been employed because others knew they were desperate.
The court heard the men could be deported back to Vietnam when they have finished their prison sentences.
