A fourth man has been extradited to the UK and charged with murdering a 16-year-old boy who was chased and attacked with machetes.

Alexander John Soyoye, known as John, died after being attacked in Moston, Greater Manchester, in November 2020.

Emerson Teta, 25, was detained in the Netherlands and extradited to the UK on Wednesday over Soyoye's death, Greater Manchester Police said.

He has since been charged with murder, manslaughter and violent disorder and has appeared before magistrates. He is set to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Friday.

Teta is the fourth man to be extradited and charged following Soyoye's death, with police revealing last month that three Portuguese nationals had been extradited to the UK, each accused of of murder, manslaughter and violent disorder.

They are Ruben Candiza, 23, Valdo De-Almeida, 26, and Marco Veiga, 25.

Six men and a teenage boy were previously convicted of John's murder in 2021. A seventh man was convicted of his manslaughter.
