Man denies raping girl on Great Yarmouth beach

A 35-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the rape and sexual assault of a girl and to the sexual assault of a second girl on the beach at Great Yarmouth.

Norfolk Police has been investigating reports that two teenage girls were raped on South Beach Parade in the early hours of 16 May.

Dawid Wlach appeared before King's Lynn Crown Court on Wednesday, where he denied the four charges he faces.

Wlach, of Dover Court, Caister-on-Sea, is due to stand trial later this year.

At the hearing, he pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault of a girl on May 15 or 16 this year.

Wlach, who police have said is a Polish national, also pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape and one of sexual assault in respect of a second girl, also said to have happened on 15 or 16 May.

A second defendant, Madalin Ilinca, also appeared before the court on Wednesday.

Ilinca, 34, of Stafford Road, Great Yarmouth, had entered his pleas of not guilty at a hearing at Norwich Crown Court last month.

Ilinca, who police have said is a Romanian national, denies the rape and sexual assault of a girl and the sexual assault of another girl.

Both men are due to stand trial at Norwich Crown Court from 7 December.

The judge, recorder Justin Rouse KC, remanded Ilinca in custody and granted Wlach conditional bail.
