More arrests after gun fired on residential street

Police investigating reports of a gun being fired on a residential street in Doncaster have made two further arrests.

Officers were called to Gordon Road in Edlington at about 22:15 BST on Friday and found evidence consistent with a firearms discharge at the scene. No injuries were reported.

Two men, aged 37 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent to endanger life on Sunday. They have since been released on police bail, South Yorkshire Police said.

A force spokesperson said another two men, aged 23 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life on Tuesday and remained in police custody.

Det Insp Claire Moss said: "No one was injured during the shooting on Gordon Road, but the outcome could easily have been much worse.

"The reality is that people carrying guns on our streets puts the lives of innocent people in danger."
