Former assistant head banned after sex offences

Jodi Swan, 50, was sacked from Oakbank School in Ryeish Green, near Reading, Berkshire, in November 2020, a week after he was arrested.
The Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) said Swan admitted engaging in sexual communication and engaging in sexual activity with the girl at Staines Magistrates' Court in October 2024. The girl was not a pupil at Oakbank School.
He was given a six-month jail term, suspended for two years, and will be the subject of a sexual harm prevention order until January 2030, the TRA added.
He started at Oakbank School in April 2017, the TRA said.
The panel said it was "very concerned" about Swan potentially committing further misconduct if he was allowed to teach again and he will never be allowed to have his registration to teach restored.
The Greenshaw Learning Trust, that now runs the school, said Swan had left it five years before it took over its management.
