Bin teams from the Derbyshire Dales will be cheering on Harry Kane and England on Wednesday

Residents in part of Derbyshire are being asked to show their support for their refuse collectors during England's World Cup campaign.

Bin teams in the Derbyshire Dales are kicking off their rounds earlier than planned on Wednesday so people are being asked to make sure their bins are kerbside by 06:00 BST.

Derbyshire Dales District Council said this will allow collections to be completed in time for employees to clock off in time to watch England.

The Three Lions will try to bag a place in the last 16 as they take on Congo DR in a 17:00 kick-off.

A council spokesperson said: "The nation will be roaring on England as they take on Congo DR at the Atlanta Stadium tomorrow.

"So if you're on a Wednesday collection it makes sense to put your bins out this evening please."
