Danyal died in hospital after suffering serious head injuries. While the driver of the Passat, also a man in his 20s, suffered minor injuries.

"He has left a huge, aching hole in our hearts," Danyal's family said in a statement shared earlier. "We will never forget him. His memory lives on in every story we tell and every laugh we share."

Danyal was named earlier by Lancashire Police, amid a continuing to appeal for witnesses and information relating to the crash.

"Our thoughts remain with his loved ones at this time," the force said.

'Helped so many'

"Danyal was only 20 years old, but in that short time, he filled our lives with so much warmth and love," Danyal's family said.

"He had the most amazing attitude towards everyone he met and treated all with kindness and respect.

"His wonderful sense of humour could make anyone laugh, and his beautiful smile was never far away.

"He had a rare gift for understanding people, building deep bonds with children and adults alike.

"Little ones adored him, and older people felt truly valued in his company.

"Though his life was short, it was full of blessings, which he shared so quietly and generously.

"He helped so many young and old, never seeking recognition.

"So many of his good deeds were done in secret that even the families of his close friends had no idea.

"That was simply who Danyal was, his goodness was so pure he never needed anyone to know."
