The Red Arrows will return to Manx skies this summer during the island's TT festival, organisers have confirmed.

The famous Royal Air Force aerobatic team will thrill the crowds by performing over Douglas Bay from 19:30 BST on 4 June.

The Red Arrows have been a feature of the TT since 1979, with thousands of people gathering each year to watch their spectacular manoeuvres.

The Department for Enterprise, which organises the event, said: "The Red Arrows display has long held a special place in the TT calendar, bringing together residents and visitors for one of the most recognisable sights of the fortnight."

A spokesperson said the display provided a "a moment when Douglas Bay turns its attention skyward and the event's sense of occasion extends beyond the Mountain Course".

This year's TT Races will take place from 25 May to 6 June.
