Man arrested after suspected stabbing in flat

A man has been arrested and another man is in hospital with serious injuries following a suspected stabbing at a flat, police say.

Sussex Police said it was called to Victoria Drive in Eastbourne on Thursday evening at about 19:00 BST after receiving reports of an assault.

A man was subsequently taken to hospital with injuries consistent with being stabbed, police added.

Another man, aged 48 and from Eastbourne, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, but was bailed while inquiries continued.

Sussex Police says its investigation is ongoing and is urging anyone with information to contact them.
