Candidates standing for Middle

Seven candidates will be standing in the general election for the Middle constituency.

Meeting the boundary of Douglas South at Vicarage Road, Middle includes the local authority areas of Braddan, Marown and Santon.

The constituency is also home to key parts of the Manx healthcare system in the form of the main hospital, Noble's, and the island's only hospice.

Although the constituency is largely rural, there is also a significant industrial and business presence.

The Spring Valley trading estate and Isle of Man Business Park lie within Middle at its boundary with Douglas, as well as the Snugborough Trading estate in Union Mills.

It is also home to the Eastern Civic Amenity Site and the island's incinerator, known as the Energy from Waste plant.

The constituency had a population of 6,487, according to Electoral Commission figures from 2023. As of October 2025, 4,759 people were registered to vote.

Stu Peters, who was elected in 2021, has decided not to seek re-election.

The BBC has invited all candidates to submit a minute manifesto in which they explain why they would be a good MHK and their three main priorities.
