A second teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 20s died following a stabbing.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) said it received multiple reports that a man had been stabbed in an alley between Cutbush Lane and Gipsy Lane in Lower Earley, Reading, Berkshire, at about 16:25 BST on Saturday.

Two teenage boys, both from Reading, who were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday and Sunday respectively, remained in custody on Tuesday afternoon.

A third teenage boy, from High Wycombe, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Sunday and has since been released on bail.

The man, who died after he was taken to hospital, has not been formally identified. His next of kin were informed of his death at the weekend.

TVP's Det Insp Nick Hind said on Saturday that the force believed there was no threat to the wider public.
