Residents have been warned not to pick up suspected asbestos after workers have cleared away cement bonded asbestos found in St Ouen.

An area of the Five Mile Road has been cordoned off after small quantities of debris were found on Monday, Jersey's Infrastructure and Environment (I&E) said.

Workers were assigned to clean up the area after concerns were reported.

I&E said: "Should the public see anything suspected to be asbestos, please do not pick it up, contact the parish who will identify the landowner."
