Fans asked to enjoy World Cup match 'responsibly'

Police said they wanted everyone to enjoy the game between England and Norway

Jersey Police are urging football fans to enjoy watching the England Norway World Cup match "responsibly" .

The force said it had "additional resourcing arrangements" for the game which starts at 22:00 BST at the Miami stadium and sees the teams compete for a place in the semi-finals.

It said officers would be on duty "to respond to incidents and provide a visible presence where needed".

A police spokesperson added: "We'd encourage anyone planning to watch the match in town to enjoy the occasion responsibly – look out for friends, respect licensed premises and staff, and plan ahead for getting home safely."
