Man charged with murder after seafront stabbing
Getty ImagesA man has been charged with murder after a person died in hospital following a stabbing in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Kent Police said it was called to reports of a man with a knife near the harbour area in Ramsgate at 04:47 BST on 23 August.
The force attended Harbour Street and Harbour Parade, where two men had been injured. Both were taken to hospital, where 52-year-old Ashley Jones later died.
Police confirmed that Kieran O'Rourke, 21 and of Seafield Mews, Ramsgate, has been charged with murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
The second victim, a 48-year-old man, has since been released from hospital.
As part of the investigation, a man aged 45 was identified as a third victim, although police said he did not sustain any injuries.
O'Rourke is due to appear at Margate Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
