Woman jailed over theft of 64 boxes of Creme Eggs
Cambridgeshire PoliceA woman who stole 64 boxes of Cadbury Creme Eggs followed by alcohol worth £300 later the same day has been jailed.
Leah Harding, 37, was pictured taking the chocolate from the Barn Garden Centre in Peterborough on 13 February, before stealing bottles of spirits from Dobbies Garden Centre in Hampton.
Cambridgeshire Police said she had also shoplifted on three occasions from Co-op in Eye before she was arrested on 18 March.
Harding, of no fixed address, admitted five counts of theft from a shop and was jailed for 41 weeks at Peterborough Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Cambridgeshire ConstabularyShe was also ordered to pay £882 in compensation.
PC Rebecca Risebrow from the Spree Offender Team said: "Harding brazenly stole from several retailers in the Peterborough area with no thought of the impact of her actions.
"These were not isolated incidents but persistent behaviour that caused financial loss and disruption to local businesses."
