Two youths charged after bus driver assaulted at hospital

Two youths have been charged after a bus driver was allegedly assaulted by a gang at a hospital.

Police Scotland were called to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh following a disturbance, which was reported at about 19:00 on Sunday.

Officers said the 53-year-old driver was assessed at the hospital.

Lothian Buses confirmed one of its drivers was involved in the incident and added it was assisting police with their inquiries.

Detectives said an investigation into the incident was ongoing and added two youths would be reported to the relevant authorities.
