Man who fell off bike dies after being hit by car

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car following a fall from his bike.

The 85-year-old was cycling on the Langstone Road bridge, Hayling Island, Hampshire, when he came off his bike and was then hit by a red Ford Fiesta on Thursday at about 12:30 BST

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the cyclist from Hayling Island was taken to hospital but died a short time later. His next of kin are aware.

The force has appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
