Teenager 'proudly acted out' fatal stabbing of 16-year-old
Police ScotlandA teenager who murdered a 16-year-old boy acted out how he had killed the teenager while jumping on a couch at a friend's house, a trial has heard.
Cole Turley, 18, also allegedly hid a knife in a friend's divan bed after carrying out the attack on Kayden Moy on Irvine Beach in May 2025.
Turley admitted a charge of murder before the trial got under way. Jay Stewart, 18, and a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named are on trial at the High Court in Glasgow accused of murder.
They have lodged a special defence of incrimination against Turley.
The charge says Stewart and the 15-year-old, while acting with Turley, pursued Moy and caused him to fall to the ground before they repeatedly stabbed him on the body.
It is alleged Stewart and the other teenager had previous ill-will and malice towards Moy and that they were members of rival gangs in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire.
Turley's friend Fraser Wallace claimed the three teenagers made up a rap song about Moy having been told that he initially survived the attack.
He said Turley seemed "proud" of the killing before "acting out exactly what he did on the beach" to Moy.
He told prosecutor Liam Ewing KC: "He (Turley) told me that he lunged for Kayden and repeatedly stabbed him.
"He jumped on my couch and acted it out in front of me. He lunged on my couch like he was stabbing Kayden. Like he was really proud of it."

Wallace said Turley then led him into his bedroom at his home in East Kilbride where Turley produced "the biggest knife (he) had ever seen".
He said Turley lifted up the divan bed and cut a hole in the bottom before stashing the knife inside.
The court heard Wallace and Turley, along with Stewart and the 15-year-old then went out to find a bag for their blood-stained clothes.
Wallace said Stewart and the 15-year-old went into bushes with a flashlight.
He said Stewart "pulled out a massive machete" and then put it back.
Wallace claimed he gave the teenagers different clothes to wear "as they were cold".
'Jumped out the window'
The witness stated that he later took a taxi to a friend's house alone. He claimed that he "didn't know what to do".
He made a 999 call, which was played to the court, in which he told the operator about Moy being stabbed and the three teenagers being in his house.
Wallace stated he returned home and received a call from the police which he had to pretend was from his ex-girlfriend.
He said armed police then arrived at his front door.
Wallace said he assumed Turley, Stewart and the other teenager "jumped out the window" in order to escape.
But when questioned by the advocate depute, he said he did not see them do so.
During a search of Wallace's house, police discovered a baton under a chair and a knife in the freezer.
Wallace claimed to have no knowledge of either item.
The trial, before judge Lord Scott, continues.
