Woman pleads guilty to stabbing outside supermarket
Derbyshire PoliceA 40-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to stabbing another woman outside a supermarket in Derby.
Armed officers were called after Lisa Kelly stabbed a woman in the wrist outside Asda in Arleston Lane, Sinfin, just after 20:35 GMT on 5 November.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, suffered a non-life-threatening injury and Kelly was located and arrested on 8 November.
Kelly, of Burton Road in Derby, was remanded to prison and admitted a charge of grievous bodily harm, theft and possession of a bladed article in public at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday.
She will be sentenced at the same court on 28 May.
GooglePolice said a member of the public had recorded the incident on their mobile phone and flagged down an attending officer to show them the footage, which identified the suspect as Lisa Kelly.
During police interview, Kelly told officers she had met the victim earlier in the day and they had been drinking.
Kelly later went to a cash machine close to the supermarket where an altercation took place between the pair, according to Derbyshire Police.
She alleged the victim's dog bit her and she ran off into the supermarket and asked staff to call police.
Kelly then stole a pack of knives and went back outside with the blades as a "scare tactic", and stabbed the woman with one of the knives, the force added.
In a statement, the victim said: "Directly after this incident my anxiety increased to the point that I was not able to go out at all, and I was unable to sleep."
