Wurzels headline Glastonbury tent at farm show
Gorman PhotographyFamous West Country band The Wurzels performed to a large crowd to end the first day of the Royal Bath and West Show.
This year's three-day farming festival in Shepton Mallet features the Pilton Tent, a new music venue sponsored by Glastonbury Festival.
About 30,000 people attended the event's opening day as temperatures reached 27C (80F).
Carol Paris, chief executive of the Royal Bath and West Society, said: "The first day is normally our quietest day and it has been very, very busy so I'm hoping for a really good show."
Special measures were put in place on Thursday to help visitors and animals alike deal with the heat.
"We brought livestock and horses in overnight last night in the cool," Paris said.
The farming event brings together people from the industry to speak about current issues and show off their livestock.
Here is a selection of Thursday's highlights.
