Lorry left hanging off side of bridge after crash
Darren SavoryA lorry was left hanging off the side of a bridge after crashing through a reservation, police say.
Tewkesbury Road in Cheltenham was closed between the Princess Elizabeth Way roundabout and Gloucester Road following the crash, which happened at about 11:50 BST.
The driver was assessed by paramedics but was not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
Gloucestershire Constabulary announced at about 16:20 that the road had reopened, and thanked drivers for their patience.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said a double-crewed land ambulance, a hazardous area response team and a tactical commander were sent to the scene and one person was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the police said the lorry was recovered.
Gloucestershire Constabulary asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has any relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
