Car driver arrested after biker dies in crash

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash.

Police were called to the collision between the motorbike and a Volkswagen Polo on Blackstone Edge Road in Mytholmroyd at about 17:30 BST on Thursday.

The 62-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene, West Yorkshire Police said.

The car driver, a 50-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while over the prescribed drugs limit.

The force said officers from its major collision inquiry team were appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who had dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
