Derbyshire Police has released an appeal for information over the crash

Police have issued an appeal for information after a man was seriously injured in a two-car crash in Buxton.

The crash involving a red Volkswagen Golf and black Honda SUV on the A6 Bakewell Road - close to the turn off for Ashwood Dale Quarry - took place at about 22:20 BST on 8 August.

A 22-year-old man, who was driving the Golf, sustained serious injuries, while a 19-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries. The 19-year-old Honda driver was checked over at the scene.

In its appeal, police said the Golf was "very distinctive looking" and an older model, which was potentially manufactured in the 1980s and had a yellow roll cage.

Derbyshire Police also want to speak to the drivers of two other vehicles believed to have been in the area at the time of the crash. Both were hatchbacks, one of which was dark in colour, the force added.
