About 100 firefighters are tackling a fire at a recycling centre in south London.

Crews were called to Landmann Way, Bermondsey, just after 17:30 BST. Fifteen engines are at the scene and turntable ladders are being used to tackle the flames from above, London Fire Brigade said.

Images posted on social media show large clouds of smoke rising into the air. Residents have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed.

Rail services from London Bridge have been delayed or diverted to alternative routes, and some services are currently at a standstill, Southeastern Railway said.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "There is a fire on property near the railway at London Bridge, which means that all lines are closed. This is expected to cause major disruption until later this evening."

Disruption to Southeastern and Thameslink services departing, arriving or going through the station are expected to continue until 22:30.

"If you are planning to travel now, you may need to use an alternative route and this will add extra time to your journey," the spokesperson said.
