Overnight road closures at roundabout for repairs

Motorists have been warned of overnight road closures in Chelmsford for improvement works.

Essex Highways Authority said sections of the Boreham Interchange will be closed from Monday until Saturday, 18 April, between 21:00 BST and 05:00 for repairs and resurfacing.

During phase one of the works, diversions will be in place while the Generals Farm roundabout, including the B1137 Eastbound overbridge and Main Road approaches, will be closed.

Phase two, from 15 April, will see the closure of Boreham Interchange roundabout, including B1137 Westbound link/overbridge, A138 and A130 Northbound, and A131 Beaulieu Parkway approaches.

During this period, the First Bus Services that travel through Boreham Interchange will finish operating before 21:00, Essex Highways said.

Countryside L&Q LLP, who are carrying out the works, said the upgrades are part of the wider infrastructure to create access to the new Beaulieu Park Railway Station.

Motorists have been asked to allow extra travel time.
