Two injured after M8 crash sparks long delays

Two people were treated for minor injuries after a crash caused long delays on the M8 outside Edinburgh.

Traffic was queued back for nine miles following the incident near the Hermiston Gait turnoff at about 06:20.

Delays lasted for several hours, with some motorists remaining in traffic for up to 60 minutes before the congestion cleared.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said two people had been treated at the scene and discharged. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
