Residents have been evacuated from a block of flats after a fire overnight.

The fire service said crews were called to Keel House on Dorchester Road, Weymouth, at 00:38 BST after a blaze on the top floor spread to the roof space.

At the height of the fire, eight appliances, including a support unit and aerial ladder platform (ALPs), were at the scene, said Dorchester and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

In an update at about 10:00, it said three appliances and an ALP remained at the site, with road closures in place and people advised to avoid the area.
