Greater Anglia says services are delayed or cancelled in parts of Essex

A track fault has led to widespread disruption on rail services across a county.

Extensive repairs were needed on the line between Wickford and Southminster in Essex, Greater Anglia said.

An emergency timetable would be operating until Network Rail could attend, the rail operator added.

Services running through Thorpe-le-Soken and Walton-on-the-Naze have also been affected.

Services running through the stations will be subject to a 30mph speed restriction.

"Owing to the extensive nature of the repair work required, we will be running an emergency timetable until Network Rail can attend. This should enable a more reliable service to run," Greater Anglia said.
