Two riders injured in off-road bike crashes

The riders of two off-road motorbikes have been seriously injured after colliding with cars in separate incidents on the same day.

In Leeds, West Yorkshire Police said a green Moto Madness pit bike had been travelling up Newlay Lane in Bramley towards the Ganners Mount junction with no lights on when it struck a black Vauxhall Insignia at about 22:10 BST on Thursday.

A man, 20, was arrested for possession of Class A drugs and driving under the influence and has since been bailed pending further inquiries.

In Dewsbury, officers were pursuing an off-road bike that had failed to stop when it collided with a grey Skoda Scarla on Owl Lane.

The force said the man in the Dewsbury incident suffered serious injuries at 15:30 BST on the same day. No arrests have been made.

Police have appealed for witnessed and anyone with dashcam footage of either incident to come forward.
