E-scooter rider critically ill after collision

An e-scooter rider is in critical condition in hospital after a collision with a car.

The 47-year-old suffered serious head injuries and is in Leeds General Infirmary after the incident on Monday, West Yorkshire Police said.

The force said the e-scooter and an Audi TT collided at the junction of Northcroft Avenue in South Elmsall at 13:15 BST.

Officers asked anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the collision, or run up to it, to get in touch.
