Man charged with owning out-of-control dogs

A man has been charged with several offences of owning a dog dangerously out of control in Leeds.

Mohammed Khangostar, 42, was arrested on Saturday on Beckhill Approach in Meanwood after "concerns and reports made by local residents" following incidents between 29 July and 14 August, according to West Yorkshire Police.

Two dogs were also seized from a property on the same road, a force spokesperson said.

Khangostar was later charged with five counts of being the owner of a dog dangerously out of control and he was released on bail, they added. He is due to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 24 November.

The dogs which had been seized were taken to secure kennels where "further assessments will be carried out, including reviews of any behavioural concerns", the spokesperson said.
