A prisoner has pleaded not guilty to murder after an inmate was found dead in his cell.

Jonathan Alcide, of HMP Stoke Heath, appeared at Stafford Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

A man in his 40s was found dead at HMP Stoke Heath, near Market Drayton, at about 07:45 BST on 1 July last year.

Alcide is due to go on trial at Stafford Crown Court on 1 September.
